Meantime Partners with London Apprenticeship Company
Meantime Brewing Company has partnered with the London Apprenticeship Company (LAC) to offer three young people the chance to work towards a career in brewing.
From the 1st September 2013, the state of the art craft brewery is opening its doors to three apprenticeship placements in the brewing, quality assurance and engineering sectors of the growing business.
Working with some of the leading experts in their field, including Meantime Brewmaster and Founder Alastair Hook, each apprentice will learn the skills and passion required to work as a part of the production team ranging from the intricacies and science behind of the brewing process; overseeing the quality and consistency of product and the vital maintenance of the millions of pounds worth of specialist machinery housed in the brewery.
Open to local young people looking for an opportunity to work and learn through a mix of ‘on the job’ training and education, the Meantime and the LAC partnership will provide school and college leavers with the vital experience required to kick-start a career in this exciting industry.
Nick Miller, CEO of Meantime Brewing Company said:
“We’re passionate about investing both the time and money in developing the unique set of skills needed to be a craft brewer, by imparting a mix of work experience and on the job training across the two year scheme- making a real and long lasting contribution to each individual’s career”.
Meantime’s partnership with the LAC follows hot on the heels of further improvements and financial backing by Boris Johnson’s office to the National Apprenticeship scheme, expected to benefit around 40,000 apprentices living and working in the capital.
Annette Helliwell, Head of Business Development at The London Apprenticeship Company said:
