Devon’s Brewery of the Year supports Poppy Appeal

This week sees the launch of a charity supporting beer from Devon’s leading producer of traditional cask ales.

Otter Brewery, based in the Blackdown Hills near Honiton, will be donating a percentage every time a drinker in the South West orders a pint of its specially created craft ale.

The aim is to raise as much money as possible for the Royal British Legion.

Available to Landlords throughout November, the delicious 5% beer is dark ruby in colour and has a well-balanced flavour with a bittersweet chocolate edge that comes from the Fuggles and Challenger hops used by Head Brewer Keith Bennett.

Patrick McCaig, Sales and Marketing Director explains:

“As the Good Pub Guide’s 2013 Brewery of the Year we couldn’t think of a better way to help those who assist our Armed Forces at a time when they could do with a little extra help. It fits perfectly with our support of the community and the people around us and requires our drinkers to do very little indeed!”

Last year a total of over £1,000 was raised with a cheque presented to the Honiton branch in January.
