Sharp’s Beer Sales Raise Funds for Cornwall Air Ambulance
Sharp’s Brewery has partnered with the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust with the aim of raising £10,000 for the charity this year. Based in Rock, North Cornwall, Sharp’s will donate 5p from the sale of each pint of Sharp’s Own, Sharp’s Special and Cornish Coaster in the county.
Sharp’s is providing Cornish bars, pubs and restaurants with pump clip attachments to help promote this charitable initiative and will also be raising awareness at the Rock Oyster Festival this summer. Sharp’s has been supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance for a number of years and recently backed paramedic Mark Fuszard by making a donation towards a vital tracking device for his Arctic challenge this March.
Susie Smith, Fundraising Manager at Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust:
“Real ale is a huge part of Cornwall’s food and drink culture so it’s great that such an iconic Cornish brand is ‘on board’ with helping us to save lives in Cornwall whilst promoting the message of enjoying alcohol responsibly.”
Emma Bebbington, General Manager at Sharp’s Brewery:
“Cornish Coaster, Sharp’s Own and Special were originally brewed by Bill Sharp for the brewery’s launch in 1994 and for sale only in Cornwall so were the perfect choice for this promotion. They are all exceptional beers; in 2010 Own was voted as CAMRA’s Supreme Champion Beer of Cornwall, Special achieved gold in the 2012 World Beer Awards and, most recently, Coaster won gold in the prestigious 2013 International Brewing Awards.”
