Woodforde’s launches New Golden Ale and Ale Trail
Norfolk brewery Woodforde’s has launched East Anglia’s largest ever Ale Trail this week which should also help with its launch of its latest real golden ale Bure Gold
The Ale Trail is the biggest yet and takes in a record 689 pubs across East Anglia, Essex and London. It encourages people to visit different pubs on the trail and collect stamps which can then be redeemed for gifts.
The brewery hopes the trail will be as successful as previous years and also hopes its new golden ale, Bure Gold, will be popular with real ale fans with its citrusy and floral flavours – making it a classic summer drink.
Rupert Farquharson, managing director at Woodforde’s, believes the Ale Trail will increase footfall to participating pubs by more than 10%, boosting revenue significantly.
“We’re extremely proud of our Norfolk roots and the Ale Trail celebrates this, giving people a real taste of Norfolk as the malted barley for our ales is exclusively grown in our county. The pub is a celebrated institution in Britain and it’s a privilege to be supporting pubs across our region and beyond.”
“We are launching the Ale Trail on a Wherry because Wherry is our most popular beer, so we think it is a fitting tribute. We’re also doing our bit to preserve these wonderful yachts by supporting the Wherry Yacht Charter Charitable Trust in its important restoration work.’’
Pubs are a very important part of the area’s tourism offering and Pete Waters, brand manager at Visit Norfolk, said of the trail:
Pubs are part of the rich tapestry that makes Norfolk such a great place to holiday or enjoy a short break, so I offer the Ale Trail a hearty ‘Cheers!’. After all, what could be better than getting out and about in our fantastic county and enjoying a tasty tipple from Norfolk’s most celebrated brewery?”
Running up until the 30th September, Ale Trail participants can collect stamps in each pub they visit, which can then be exchanged for gifts from the Woodforde’s shop. For a guide to participating pubs visit www.woodfordes.co.uk or call 01603 720353.
