Davenports Brewery Launches a Glorious Craft Lager

Davenports – a brewery based in the Midlands – has just launched a new craft lager called England’s Glory.

Available both on draught and in cans, the 4% ABV lager is described as “a celebration of all things British”, and is brewed with English hops to help produce the perfect English lager taste.

England’s Glory is the first draught/canned lager that Davenports have brewed in more than 30 years. The company says the launch of the lager beer marks its move away from producing purely niche cask ales to the more mainstream beers, and will help position the brand as a larger player in Midlands brewing.

Davenports spokesman Paul Steeples said:

“We’ve had a fantastic response to our soft launch and tasting events, many of our testing establishment reported that Englands Glory was out selling the Midlands’ leading lager 3:1 – we’re thrilled with the response so far.

“Our reputation for real cask ales is very strong, we’re hoping to emulate that in the arena of draft and canned lagers.”
